We Are Innovation Continues African Expansion with New Burundi Member

Gitega, Burundi (May 20, 2026) — We Are Innovation has exciting news. The network is welcoming a new member and expanding to one more country. The Libertarian Movement Anti-Malversion and Economic Crimes (LMAC), from Burundi, is becoming WAI’s 57th partner.

LMAC is a think tank that promotes economic freedom, limited government, and African prosperity, aiming to prevent, denounce, and combat corruption while championing transparency, good governance, and economic justice. It envisions a society where public and private resources are managed transparently and responsibly.

LMAC is WAI’s fifth partner from Africa, alongside organizations from Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia. Expanding the footprint in this continent keeps on being one of the network’s priorities, as building partnerships in emerging and underrepresented markets fosters new perspectives and collaborative solutions to global challenges. With one of the youngest populations in the world, Burundi has long-term potential for innovation-driven growth and entrepreneurship and partnering up with a national organization allows better understanding of local challenges and opportunities.

Egide Nduwayo, the CEO of LMAC, is eager to have We Are Innovation as a partner, At LMAC, we believe that strong public policy to advocate against corruption is the foundation of transparent governance, economic freedom, innovation, and sustainable development. As CEO of LMAC, I see great value in connecting with We Are Innovation to exchange ideas, strengthen international collaboration, and promote forward-looking policies that empower citizens, fight corruption, and encourage innovation-driven societies.

Federico N. Fernández, the CEO of We Are Innovation, is also happy to collaborate with LMAC, “We Are Innovation exists to amplify the voices of those fighting for open economies and genuine opportunity. LMAC is doing precisely that in one of Africa’s most underrepresented markets. Welcoming them as our 57th partner is a reminder that the case for permissionless innovation is universal, and that some of its most passionate advocates are found all over the world.”

With this new partnership, We Are Innovation continues strengthening its global network of organizations committed to innovation and progress. By expanding into Burundi, WAI reinforces its commitment to supporting emerging voices and fostering development in regions with significant untapped potential. Together, WAI and LMAC hope to contribute to a more prosperous future both for Burundi and for Africa as a whole.
